KILLEN - Authorities were questioning a man late Friday after a shooting sent a Harrison Road resident to the hospital with a shotgun wound.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Ronnie Willis said Arthur Pete Davis, 49, was shot once in the torso. He was airlifted to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, where he was in critical condition, authorities said.
Willis said Davis was shot outside the residence of Zachary Smith who also lives on Harrison Road. The shooting took place around 9 p.m., according to reports.
Willis said Smith was taken into custody for questioning but no charges had been filed late Friday.
The sheriff said investigators had not determined a motive for the shooting or if Smith was the shooter.
