FLORENCE — A Lauderdale County man accused of stabbing another man to death Nov. 19, is in jail on bail of $1 million, while his brother, accused of stealing a car they used to travel to Florida, is being held on $100,000 bond, officials said.
The bail amounts were set this morning by Lauderdale County District Judge Carole C. Meldey during an advisement hearing for Shannon Paul Brewer, 24, and his brother, Jerry Lee Brewer, 25.
Shannon Brewer, 7876 Lauderdale 200, Florence, is charged with murder and second-degree assault in connection with the stabbing death of Mark Allen Dishon, 49, 64 Lauderdale 638, Florence, and the attack on Dishon’s ex-wife Sandra Sikes, who was at the house and sustained minor injuries.
Jerry Brewer, 1402 S.W. Eighth St., Sheffield, is charged with first-degree theft of property after he stole a 2001 Toyota Sequoia the brothers used to flee the area.
They were arrested Nov. 20, by U.S. marshals in Tallahassee, Fla. They were brought back to Florence Thursday night.
