FLORENCE — Ten members of the University of North Alabama football team have been selected for the All Gulf South Conference team, including one who was named freshman defensive player of the year.

Five were selected for the first team and five for the second team. Floyd Jones was honored as Defensive Freshman of the Year.

The first teams selections were senior defensive lineman Richie Mata’afa, junior linebacker Tavarius Wilson, junior defensive back Caleb Massey, junior punter Michael Schuster and senior long snapper Josh Roberts.

The second team All GSC selections were freshman running back Lamonte Thompson, junior offensive guard David Lundberg, senior offensive tackle Will Furlong, junior linebacker Brion James, and freshman defensive back Floyd Jones.
