TUSCUMBIA — Two men are in jail accused of stealing copper items from four cellphone towers in the area, officials said.

Dana Linn Hughes, 43, 11256 Frankfort Road, Tuscumbia, is charged with three counts of first-degree theft of property, three counts of first-degree receiving stolen property and one count each of third-degree burglary and possession of burglar tools, while Daniel Dewayne Risner, 29, 1115 Lauderdale 226, Florence, is charged with three counts of first-degree theft of property and one count each of third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools, Colbert County Sheriff Ronnie May said.

They are accused of taking items from cellphone towers on U.S. 72 in Tuscumbia, Simpson Circle in Cherokee, Lowery Road in Leighton and Misty Mountain road in Littleville.
