Katie Melvin, Florence, received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga.
Florence High School seniors who were named National Merit Semi-Finalists, National Achievement Semi-Finalists and National Merit Commended Students for the 2012-2013 competition include:
National Merit Semi-Finalists — Rohit Borah, Adam Schoenbachler and Roman Sherrod. They took the PSAT as 11th graders and scored among the top one percent in the nation and can continue in the competition toward becoming National Merit Finalists.
National Achievement Semi-Finalist — Juliette Stanley. The National Achievement Scholarship Program honors African-American students who scored in the top one percent in the nation on the PSAT.
National Merit Commended Students — David Marsh, Carrie Ann Davison and Davis Tran. They scored among the top five percent in the nation who took the PSAT.
Academic Achievers include achievements earned in school-sponsored activities that are based on grades and academic performances. Information comes from universities, colleges and local schools.
