Academic Achievers

Hannah Saylor graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education on Dec. 15. She is the daughter of Donnie and Ginger Saylor, Russellville.

Catherine Juliette Stanley has been named a finalist by the National Achievement Scholarship Program. A senior at Florence High School, she is in consideration to receive one of 800 scholarships, with the opportunity to compete to as a National Achievement Scholar.

Rachel McGuire, Florence, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Auburn University at Montgomery for earning at least a 3.5 grade-point average. She is majoring in psychology.

Taryn E. Burgess, Killen, and Charles J. Kelley, Florence, were named to the fall semester honor roll at Rhodes College, Memphis, Tenn., for earning at least a 3.85 grade-point average.

Academic Achievers include achievements earned in school-sponsored activities based on grades and academic performances. Information comes from universities, colleges and local schools. It is published as space permits.
