Allen sentenced to 3 years for sex with minor

A woman who admitted she had sex with a 14-year-old boy was sentenced today to three years in prison with no chance of probation.

Dana Myhan Allen, 38, Florence, was sentenced today by Lauderdale County Circuit Judge Mike Jones.

Allen admitted June 22 that she had a sexual relationship with the boy. She pleaded guilty to second-degree rape. The plea called for a 36-month sentence and requires her to register as a sex offender.

She was arrested in January.

Her defense attorney, Ralph Holt, asked Jones to place his client on probation, but the judge ordered her to serve the full sentence in prison.
