SHEFFIELD — An award-winning author will speak about the famed Tuskegee Airmen at Sheffield Public Library at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Dan Haulman is the co-author of "The Tuskegee Airman — An Illustrated History 1939-1949," which features many uncirculated photos of the airmen.
The Tuskegee Airmen is the popular name for a group of African-American pilots who fought in World War II.
The book offers a detailed chronology of the group's history.
Haulman, a military historian, received the Mill B. Howard Award from the Alabama Historical Commission for his article "The Tuskegee Airmen and the ‘Never Lost a Bomber' Myth."
