COLLINWOOD, Tenn. — Authorities are searching for a man they said was carrying a gun when he walked into Collinwood Drugs on Thursday night and stole a bag of prescription pills.
Collinwood police investigator Shane Rippy said the robbery took place at 6:04 p.m.
He said the man walked into the drug store on Tennessee 13, showed a gun and demanded pills.
“No one was hurt; that’s the good thing,” Rippy said.
He said the robber is described as a white man who is between 6 foot and 6 foot 5 inches in height and has a slender build.
“He was wearing a gray-hooded camouflage jacket and a camouflage bandana over his face,” Rippy said.
Police said the man also was wearing black boots and khaki cargo-style pants.
“Once inside the pharmacy, he pulled out a bag and then walked around the counter to the pharmacists,” Rippy said. “He pointed the gun and told them what kind of pills he wanted.”
He said all of the pills taken were prescription narcotics. Rippy said when the man had the pills he demanded, he walked out of the store and headed south around the corner of the building.
He said witnesses believe he parked a vehicle at the back of the building.
“We don’t have any kind of description of a vehicle,” Rippy said.
A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person involved.
Anyone with information is asked to call Rippy or Collinwood Police Chief Dan Farris at 931-724-9227 or the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Tip Line at 931-722-2300.
