TheTimes Daily

FLORENCE — The Shoals Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Shoals Citizen of the Year.

Recommendations must be turned into the chamber office at 20 Hightower Place by March 11. Nominations can be faxed to 256-766-9017 or mailed to Shoals Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 1331, Florence, AL 35631-1331.

Forms are available at the chamber or online at shoalschamber.com. The recommendation should come with an attached page of comments on why the nominee should be selected.

The winner will be announced at the March 22 annual meeting.

To be eligible, a nominee must have made outstanding contributions to the Shoals through time or resources that promote the best interests of the area. The nominee could be selected based on contributions of various lengths of time, including lifetime, several years or the preceding year.

A nominee cannot currently hold political office and must be a member of the chamber.

The recipient is selected based on quality of service, rather than quantity of recommendations.
