Coach of the Year
Bob Grisham, Lauderdale County
Grisham led the Tigers to a 12-2 record and a semifinals appearance in his fourth year as head coach. It was Lauderdale County’s first time advancing that far since 1995.
The Tigers’ only two losses were to eventual Class 3A state champion Madison Academy, and they outgained the Mustangs in both of those games. It was the third straight 10-win season for the Tigers under Grisham, who has a 37-12 record at Lauderdale County.
“I’m extremely proud of this group. We started coaching them in eighth grade and I thought there was something special with them then. We had good (participation) numbers. We lost 10 guys from the group since they were in eighth grade, but the 14 who stuck with us are about as good as they come. They have heart, want and desire. A coach is only as good as his players.”
