The Lauderdale County school board will meet in a special session today at 4 p.m. at the central office.
Board members are expected to address a situation from last week involving Lauderdale County High School teacher/head football coach Bob Grisham.
Grisham, who teaches psychology and driver’s education, was taped reportedly by a student in his class as he ranted against first lady Michelle Obama and gays. The 1 minute, 24 second-long audio tape went public late Monday and for a period of time was posted on the social website YouTube.
Grisham said he was in a debate type situation and misspoke.
Since the incident went public, a ground-swell of support for Grisham, particularly from within the Rogersville community, has come about through petitions and social sites as well as those calling for his firing.
