Colbert man injured in car accident

MUSCLE SHOALS — A Colbert County man is being treated at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital after he was injured in an early morning traffic accident, officials said.

Ryan Vines, 25, Leighton, was injured in a one-car accident on Sixth Street this morning, officials said. The accident happened at 6:46 a.m. near Gnat Pond Road.

Police said Vines was driving a Pontiac Firebird and was traveling east on Sixth Street when he lost control, went off the road and crashed.

He was taken by ambulance to ECM hospital.

Hospital officials said his condition was unknown at this time but he was being treated in the emergency department.

The accident is under investigation by Muscle Shoals Police.
