FLORENCE — Additional school resource officers will be a major topic of discussion for the Lauderdale County Commission today during its work session.
The commission will be discussing a request from Lauderdale County School Superintendent Jennifer Gray to put three additional school resource officers in county schools. Gray said the school system is willing to split with the county the cost of the officers.
The county currently has one resource officer but has had two in the past.
The commission work session begins at 2:30 p.m. A vote on the request cannot be taken during the work session.
