Council to discuss Mill Village project
By Hannah Mask

RUSSELLVILLE — City Council members will discuss tonight options for revamping a contract to renovate one of the city’s oldest areas, Mayor Troy Oliver said.

Oliver said the original community development grant was for nearly $530,000, which is more than the actual cost of upgrading the water lines and other aspects of Russellville’s Mill Village.

The city is responsible for providing a financial match for the grant and is also required to use the money precisely for what it is designed to be used for in the project.

One option to be considered is reducing the contract and reopening it for bids, Oliver said.
