RUSSELLVILLE — A Franklin County couple accused of exchanging letters that outline explicit sexual acts they wanted to perform on children have been indicted, authorities said.
Seth Alexander, 28, BDI Trailer Park, Russellville, and his wife, Jennifer Milam, 29, same address, were indicted on five counts of facilitating the solicitation of unlawful sexual contact with a child under 16, Franklin County courthouse officials said.
Authorities said the indictments were issued during the September grand jury session.
Investigators said that the children were named in the letters exchanged between Alexander and his wife. The youngest child mentioned in the letters was 17 months old, reports indicate.
Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said the two were arrested in June after the allegations were reported.
Oliver said Alexander and Milam are accused of sending at least five letters to each other while they were in the Franklin County Jail on drug charges.
Officials said the letters went into explicit detail about the sexual acts the couple wanted to perform on the children.
Investigators said from all indications, Milam and Alexander never carried out the actions they detailed in the letters.
The sheriff’s office was notified of the accusations by the Franklin County Department of Human Resources. Investigators said DHR received the letters from someone who claimed to have found them.
Oliver said Milam was arrested and charged June 19 at her residence. Alexander turned himself in at the sheriff’s office two days later after warrants for his arrest were issued, Oliver said.
“This is a very disturbing case,” Oliver said. “It’s truly awful to think about.”
Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said Milam and Alexander are scheduled to be arraigned Friday. “They should be placed on the December trial docket,” he said.
The couple remain in jail without bail.
The charges are Class C felonies, which are punishable by 1-10 years in prison if convicted.
