Cullman lands Bass Fishing Hall of Fame

CULLMAN (AP) — Cullman has landed the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame.

The hall of fame organization announced the location during the Bassmaster Classic this weekend in Tulsa, Okla. Cullman beat nearby Guntersville to host the hall of fame.

The hall of fame will be a joint project with the city and Cullman County and will include an adjacent civic center. The total project will cost about $17 million and will cover 101,000 square feet. The location is just off a new interchange the state is building on Interstate 65.

Cullman Mayor Max Townson told The Cullman Times that getting the hall of fame was like "landing a 20-pound bass with a 10-pound line on a spinner bait."
