Fate of 'Ghost Bridge' will be discussed today

FLORENCE — The Lauderdale County Commission is expected to discuss the demolition of the old “Ghost Bridge” this morning at the regular meeting.

The bridge, which is a single-lane bridge, crossed Cypress Creek on Lauderdale 282, near the old Forks of Cypress Plantation.

The bridge has been closed since 1997 because of the condition of the steel structure and the wooden flooring.

The commission meets today at 11 a.m.
