FLORENCE — A apartment house was damaged this morning during a fire, officials said.
Florence firefighters were called to a two-story residence at Hermitage Drive and Popular Street just after 7 a.m.
“It was going pretty good when we got here, but our guys did a good job of getting it under control quickly and getting it out,” Florence Fire Battalion Chief Ben Cochran said.
Cochran said the fire started in the basement area of the house, which contained five apartments.
He said none of the tenants was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
