FLORENCE - State Fire Marshal investigators are assisting Florence firefighters in determining who set fire at a west Florence residence Sunday night.

The house at 333 Beverly Avenue was destroyed during the fire, which was reported at 7:12 p.m.

A neighbor reported seeing someone toss something into the house and later heard several explosions and fire erupted.

The house was being remodeled, fire officials said.
