FLORENCE — First Friday in downtown Florence is going to look a lot like Christmas this Friday.

The December event, which is the final one until March 2013, will have a distinctive Christmas feel with Santa ready to meet and greet.

Santa will be seated at the intersection of Mobile Plaza and Court Street.

Listerhill Credit Union will be providing free pictures with Santa. SnowMasters will provide artificial snow for the event.

First Fridays is 5-8 p.m. on Court Street.

More Christmas activities are planned for Saturday. The tree lighting ceremony for the Florence Christmas, which follows a the downtown Christmas Open House for merchants, is set for 6 p.m. The Forest Hills Elementary School show choir will perform at the tree lighting. The Saturday events are sponsored by Florence Main Street.
