Foreclosure rates in the Shoals dropped in September, according to data released today by CoreLogic.

The rate of Florence-Muscle Shoals area foreclosures was 0.8 percent in September, down from 1.01 percent in September 2011.

The national foreclosure rate in September was 3.25 percent.

The mortgage delinquency rate in Florence-Muscle Shoals was 3.19 percent in September, down from 3.29 percent in September 2011.

Rates also fell in the Decatur area, where the September foreclosure rate was 1.23 percent, down from 1.36 percent in September 2011.

Mortgage delinquency rates in Decatur also decreased. In September, 4.37 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 4.56 percent in September 2011.
