Former Athens, Bama star Hendrix joins Russian pro team

Former Athens High and University of Alabama basketball player Richard Hendrix confirmed today he has joined a professional team in Russia.

Hendrix, who previously played in Italy, initially reported his plans on Facebook and then confirmed them by text message.

Lokomotiv Kuban from Russia's PBL reported it strengthened its roster with the addition of Hendrix, 27.

He had started the season at EA7 Emporio Armani Milano in Italy.

Last season Hendrix played in Israel at Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv of the Premier League.
