There were no reports of icy weather in northwest Alabama overnight, and the freezing rain advisory was canceled this morning, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.
Temperatures were in the 40s by 6:30 a.m. across the region, said Dana Griffin of the weather service office in Huntsville.
Colder air stayed north and east of the Shoals overnight, keeping it too warm for roads to get icy, Griffin said.
