Fund to help family after fire

BIRMINGHAM — A Florence man injured in a Tuesday morning house fire remains in critical condition at a Birmingham hospital while his two children are continuing to improve, family friends said.

Timothy Shane Green, 39, remained in critical condition this morning in UAB Hospital, friends of the family said.

“But they said the two children were better and had gotten to see each other for the first time since the fire started,” said Jill Hardin, a friend of the Green family.

Hardin said she talked with a family member Thursday morning.

Green was burned and cut while getting his children, Trinity, 2, and Devin, 6, out of their house at 421 Enterprise St. early Tuesday morning.

The Green Family Benefit Fund has been established at Bank Independent to help the family.
