HACKLEBURG — Gov. Robert Bentley visited ground zero of April 27, 2011’s largest tornado to announce $15.75 million in funds to carry on storm recovery efforts in Alabama.

Bentley said Hackleburg will receive $4.8 million for public projects. Marion County will get an additional $300,000. Nearby Phil Campbell, in Franklin County, will receive $2.5 million and East Franklin will get $125,000. Lawrence County will receive $375,000.

The areas were hit by an EF-5 tornado that packed winds of 210 mph. It was part of a line of devastating tornadoes that ripped through Alabama and the South.
