‘Happy Families' workshop planned

MUSCLE SHOALS — A free Healthy and Happy Families workshop will begin at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Northwest-Shoals Community College Bevill Center.

The workshop is sponsored by the Lauderdale County Children's Policy Council and will cover various topics including father involvement, eating healthy and staying active, managing autism and other childhood disorders, effect of domestic violence on children and teaching children self control.

Various exhibits will be included. Registration is being accepted by calling 256-766-6223. There is a fee of $50 for for-profit organizations to set up a display.

Continuing education credits for social workers and counselors are available with a fee of $10.
