FLORENCE — Hydrangea plants will be given away beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum.
Up to three plants per person will be distributed while supplies last. The coliseum is at 702 E. Veterans Drive.
Judy Keenum, executive director of Keep The Shoals Beautiful, said the hydrangea is the state wildflower.
“It’s a native plant to Alabama,” Keenum said. “The Shoals Master Gardeners will be there with planting tips and suggestions.”
The event is sponsored by Keep The Shoals Beautiful, Shoals Master Gardeners, Florence Recycling Center and Shoals Solid Waste Authority.
