Keller employee named 'Hospital Hero'

SHEFFIELD — Dan Jackson, director of diagnostic imaging at Helen Keller Hospital, was recently named a “Hospital Hero” by the North Alabama Regional Council of Alabama Hospital Association.

Jackson was nominated for the honor by his coworkers for his dedication and service, according to a news release.

Jackson has worked at Helen Keller since 2006. The news release stated Jackson is honored for his “service to his workplace, the patients of Helen Keller Hospital, the community” while caring for his wife, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2011.

Jackson was recognized at an awards luncheon in Decatur, one of seven similar luncheons held in the state.
