Kilby accepting applications for pre-K class

FLORENCE — The Kilby Child Development Center will accept applications for its 2013-14 pre-kindergarten class from Jan. 10 to Feb. 7.

Applications will be accepted from noon to 3 p.m. each weekday at Kilby.

The class is open to children who will turn 4 by Sept. 1, and class spots will be filled by promotion and a lottery system.

The lottery drawing will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Kilby Child Development Center.

To apply, guardians must bring a copy of the child’s original birth certificate, the child’s Social Security card, an up-to-date immunization certificate and proof of Alabama residency.
