LEXINGTON – The Lauderdale County basketball tournament semifinals scheduled for tonight have been postponed until Friday.

Game times remain the same with the first semifinal game scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday at Lexington High School.

Championship games for the junior varsity teams will begin Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Varsity championship games will be played as scheduled Saturday, with the girls game set for 5:45 p.m. and the boys game following at 7:30 p.m.

Games were postponed because temperatures were expected to drop below freezing and officials were worried icy conditions might make late travel after the games difficult.

Elsewhere, Lawrence County tournament games were rescheduled for Friday beginning at 3 p.m., while Franklin County tournament games were still set to be played tonight at Belgreen High School.
