Police seek help to identify man who used stolen credit card

FLORENCE — Local authorities said they need the public’s help in identifying a man who used a stolen credit card at a downtown convenience store.

Florence police detective Drew Harless said the man is accused of taking the credit card from a business in Sheffield and using it to make a purchase at the store.

“Then we found out that he had used the credit card at the Quick Stop at Court Street and Limestone Street around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, and we are hopeful that someone saw this guy or may know him,” Harless said.

Harless said the man used the card to buy cigarettes, cigars and motor oil.

Anyone knowing anything about the man is asked to call 256-768-2728 or Shoals Crime Stoppers at 256-386-8685.
