Lawrence County 21, Franklin 14 (OT)

WINCHESTER, Tenn. — A 9-yard quarterback sack by Bret Davis and a 9-yard touchdown run by Marquis Lockridge in overtime propelled Lawrence County to a 21-14 win over Franklin on Friday.

Davis broke though to sack Franklin County quarterback Joe Critchlow to keep the Rebels out of the end zone.

On Lawrence County’s first possession in overtime, Lockridge broke through to score, giving the Wildcats the win.

Lawrence County (3-5, 1-4) rallied from a 14-0 deficit in the first quarter.

The Wildcats recovered an on-side kick to start the third quarter. Lockridge scored on a 11-yard run and Ben Evers’ kick made it 14-7.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Wildcats tied the game with 7:33 to play on a 37-yard when Lockridge run and Evers’ kick.

Sophomore Tanner Wray led the Wildcat defense with an interception and a fumble recovery.
