Letter to the editor

The way Hillary Clinton danced around questions asked by the Senate investigation committee, had she been on “Dancing with the Stars,” she would have won hands down.

Said she would trust American security with her life. Sure, but would she have said the same about the Libyan security that was supposed to be guarding the compound? Why wasn’t our ambassador afforded American guards in such a dangerous situation? It’s inexcusable. Why were multiple requests for security denied?

Unlike the much ballyhooed Osama bin Laden take-down, the administration sat helplessly by for seven hours while four good men were killed when help was available. Why was Carter Ham told to stand down, then fired for wanting to send help? Who gave the order? We’ll never know because the culprit will be defended by apologists all the way up and down the chain of command.

Clinton said Benghazi was personal. It also was very personal for Ambassador Stevens and the three other heroes. With a Truman, “buck stops here,” attitude, Clinton took full responsibility, meaning what? That she screwed up and would voluntarily step down?

Why would Democratic questioners soft peddle one of their own on such an important issue? It is inconceivable that our secretary of state was out of the loop in this whole Benghazi affair, but did this tarnish her record?

No, she could run for president tomorrow with Karl Marx as vice president, and win handily, because 51 percent vote party loyalty over character.
