FLORENCE — A man and two children were injured in a predawn house fire today in east Florence, a relative said.

The man, Shane Green, cut his hand severely when he broke out a window and helped the children escape the burning two-story house at 421 Enterprise St., the relative said. He also suffered burn injuries.

One of the children, identified as Trinity, 2, sustained smoke inhalation, according to the family member. A boy, Devin, 6, suffered cuts and burns, she added.

Green was treated for the cut hand at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence and was expected to be taken to the burn center at University Hospital in Birmingham. The children were being taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.
