Man accused of assaulting girlfriend with bowl of oatmeal
By Tom Smith

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. — A Lawrence County man has a date in General Sessions Court in December after being accused of holding his girlfriend against her will and hitting her with a bowl of oatmeal, officials said.

Timothy Allen Willis Jr., 43, 31 Gillespie Drive, Five Points, Tenn., is charged with aggravated domestic assault and vandalism, said sheriff’s Capt. Adam Brewer.

Brewer said Willis was arrested Sunday afternoon after authorities were called to Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg to talk with Willis’ 48-year-old girlfriend. Brewer said the woman was taken to the hospital where she was treated for injuries received in the assault.

Both charges are felonies, authorities said.
