Muscle Shoals changes council meeting date

MUSCLE SHOALS — The Muscle Shoals City Council meeting has been moved from today to Tuesday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The 6 p.m. meeting will be preceded by a council work session at 5:30 p.m.

On the agenda for the work session is a discussion about possible changes to the retail incentive program that is in place for the Wilsom Dam Highway corridor. Real estate developer Gregg Pounders spoke to the council during its Jan. 7 meeting about applying the incentive program to his project on Woodward Avenue. Pounders’ company is renovating retail space in the Sav-A-Lot grocery shopping center to house a Goody’s store.
