PRATTVILLE (AP) — The future of an LPGA tournament in Prattville is in question after the event's title sponsor said it won't participate anymore.
The Montgomery Advertiser reports that Navistar is giving up the event after six years.
The decision means the continuation of the tournament is in doubt for 2013.
The LPGA tournament is played at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail development in Prattville, RTJ Capitol Hill.
The SunBelt Golf Corp. and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail are looking for a new event sponsor.
Navistar says its current business climate means it has to reduce sponsorship deals.
Navistar announced in 2011 plans to occupy the former National Alabama railcar plant in Barton Riverfront Industrial Park that could mean 1,800 employees. That project has been slowed as the nation continues to rebound from a recession.
