NewsTalk WBCF Radio is relocating its broadcast frequency to 97.1 FM on Friday.
The move is being made to expand coverage area and provide a clearer signal.
The station received permission from the Federal Communications Commission to make the move. Benji Carle, general manager of NewsTalk 97 WBCF, said the station's listeners will benefit from the move.
"Moving down one position on the dial should give our FM listeners a boost in both coverage and signal strength, specifically to the north and south, where we faced crowding from out-of-town signals," Carle said.
NewsTalk 97.1 and 1240 WBCF is home to many news/talk shows, including Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, Dr. Joy Browne, CNBC, America's Radio News, Sean Hannity, Jim Bohannon, Mike Huckabee, Dennis Miller, Mark Levin and CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX News hourly, as well as sports play-by-play broadcasts of UNA basketball and baseball, Mars Hill basketball, NCAA football and basketball and the NFL Dallas Cowboys.
