Taking away control of women's' bodies and lives is a losing enterprise. A majority of women have made it clear they want no part of taking away women's rights to reproductive choice or to basic decisions about their lives and future. All of these choices hinge on women's rights to choose whether and with whom they wish to have a family.
Access to birth control is an essential element of this choice.
Women are not stupid; they know that men have access to insurance coverage for erectile dysfunction medications that make them able to choose when they have sexual experiences and when they cannot have them. Women know that if this is an equitable society, then women should have the same choice.
That is one of the functions of birth control. Women know that insurance coverage for birth control is equivalent to erectile dysfunction prescription coverage.
There are other functions of birth control but they are not in question by elderly white men.
Currently the Republican Party is pandering for the Hispanic and Latino vote, but they need to understand that women are easily 50 percent of the voting population of this country and they are not OK with men enacting laws that take away women's rights to choose about whether or when to have a family.
If the extreme right wants to continue to hold positions of power, they had better start looking at pandering to women. Continue this war against women at your peril.
