ROGERSVILLE - Police Chief Terry Holden said little information has been discovered in recent weeks about the man police say robbed a Rogersville bank in November.
That changed Monday afternoon when a bank in Hamilton was robbed by a man matching the description of the suspect in the Rogersville bank robbery.
Holden said arrest warrants were issued in December for Cedrick Lamond Hicks, 33, 3109 S. Nevel Circle, Huntsville, in connection with the Nov. 27 robbery of the Rogersville branch of Regions Bank.
He said area, state and federal agencies had been looking for Hicks since that time but had not heard anything about him until Monday when he reportedly robbed the Peoples Trust Bank of Hamilton.
“That was the first sighting of him since he robbed our bank,” Holden said.
Hamilton police said they are convinced Hicks is the person who robbed the bank there. Police investigator Sgt. Scotty Chandler said FBI agents and other officials have determined it the same person is involved in both robberies.
Anyone knowing anything about the whereabouts of Hicks is asked to contact any local law enforcement department or Shoals Crime Stoppers at 256-386-8685.
