Florence authorities searched a Jones Street residence today looking for a man who Morgan County officials want in connection with the death of a woman in Lacy’s Spring.

Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin said the body of 49-year-old Stacey Hagood was discovered by her adult daughter shortly before 10 a.m. today.

Authorities are searching for Stacey Hagood’s husband, Rodney Hagood. The Hagoods were divorced but lived together in the house at 496 River Loop Road and have a history of domestic violence, Franklin said.

The sheriff did not disclose the manner of Stacey Hagood’s death, but said Rodney Hagood is a “possible suspect,” wanted for questioning.

“He’s possibly even a victim,” Franklin said.

Florence police said they are working with Morgan officials on the case but declined to comment further, citing the investigation is being handled by Morgan authorities.

Deputies were looking for a white 1995 Ford Explorer with tag number 52H29K6. Authorities are now looking for a silver 2010 Toyoto Corolla, possible driven by a woman. The tag is 2B86V82, authorities said.

Franklin said Rodney Hagood is possibly armed. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and tattoos on his right arm.
