Police search for suspect in convenience store robbery

FLORENCE — Police are looking for a man they say walked into a convenience store this morning on Royal Avenue and robbed the clerk.

Investigators said a masked man armed with a gun walked into the Quick Mart at Royal Avenue and Hermitage Drive around 4 a.m., demanded money from the clerk and left on foot. Police said he was able to take an undetermined amount of money.

Florence police detective Sgt. Cliff Billingsley said the man is described as being a white male who is about 5 foot 7 inches tall.

He said witnesses said was walking east on Hermitage Drive when he left the store..
