Promoting respect

I am impressed with the letter "Anthem and flag etiquette" by Euell White. To see our country's citizens showing respect and allegiance to our uniting flag and Constitution is a thrill to me as a veteran who has total allegiance and has seen people die for this flag and country.

You also had a report about Kilby third grade class singing the National Anthem at one of UNA's basketball games and the spectators all standing with hats removed and most had hands over heart. After hearing the song the crowd continued to give a roaring ovation for this performance. Other local talented students also sing our anthem at various events at UNA, which thrills the crowd.

I am proud of the TimesDaily, UNA and others who promote respect for our flag and Constitution. This traditional display of allegiance and respect shown by our citizens has been noticed by many visitors to our area.
