Rainy Veterans Day gives way to cold night

A rainy Veterans Day will yield to a freezing Monday night as a cold front invades the Shoals today.

Showers will end from the west to east today, but they were threatening to move local Veterans Day ceremonies inside.

Today’s high temperature was expected to be in the lower 60s this morning before falling throughout the remainder of the day. By sunset it should be near the upper 40s and drop to 28 tonight, according the National Weather Service.

With north winds of 5-10 mph Tuesday morning, the wind-chill values will be in the lower 20s.

The rest of the work week should see clear skies, lows in the 30s, and highs in the 50s and 60s.
