Report: Tide backup QB considers transferring

Alabama backup quarterback Phillip Ely is considering transferring, according to a report by College Football Talk.

According to the report, Ely would leave the Crimson Tide for South Florida, near his home in Tampa, Fla. Ely graduated from Plant High in 2011.

After redshirting in the 2011 season, he was a backup in 2012, appearing in six games and completing 3 of 4 passes for 42 yards. He threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Eddie Lacy against Mississippi State.
