Arkansas (4-6, 2-4) at Mississippi State (7-3, 3-3)

The lowdown: After starting out 7-0, Mississippi State has suffered three straight losses, following to Alabama, Texas A&M and LSU, all of which are ranked in the Top 10 this week. For Arkansas, the season started poorly with a 1-4 mark, but the Razorbacks have shown signs of life since then. The Hogs must when this game and a Nov. 23 home contest against LSU to become bowl eligible. ....Arkansas receiver Cobi Hamilton leads the SEC in receptions per game (7.3) and receiving yards for game (114.90).

Ole Miss (5-5, 2-4) at LSU (8-2, 4-2)

Where: Baton Rouge, La.

When: 2:30 p.m.

The lowdown: LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger has looked sharp in his last two games, including last week's 37-17 win over Mississippi State. Mettenberger passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns for the eighth-ranked Tigers. The previous week, he thew for 298 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Alabama. ...LSU has the conference's top pass defense, allowing 166 yards per game ...Ole Miss has lost two straight. If the Rebels don't pull the upset today, they will have to win next week's Egg Bowl against Mississippi State to become bowl eligible.

Jacksonville State (6-4) at Florida (9-1)

The lowdown: Florida, sixth in the BCS standings, escaped what would have been a humbling loss last week against the Mark Hudspeth-coached Louisiana-Lafayette, 27-20. The Gators scored twice in the final 2 minutes, including on a blocked punt as the final seconds ticked off the clock. The Rajun Cajuns left with broken hearts and a $950,000 check for being Florida's homecoming opponent. ...Florida is 104th nationally in total offense (330.6 yards per game) but fifth in total defense (284.9 yards per game). ...Jacksonville State, from the Ohio Valley Conference, completes its season today. The Gamecocks defeated Austin Peay with a 38-23 come-from-behind victory last week to secure its 10th straight winning season. Jacksonville State started its season against an SEC team, losing 49-24 to Arkansas.

Wofford (8-2) at South Carolina (8-2)

The lowdown: South Carolina's rushing defense allows 102 yards per game, while Wofford's option offense gobbles up 373 yards per game. ...The ninth-ranked Gamecocks are led on defense by defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who continues to menace opponents with 43 tackles this season, including 17 for a loss. It will be interesting to see how he and the defense handle an option attack. ...The Terriers are from the Southern Conference and are among a slew of cupcake non-conference SEC opponents this week.

Sam Houston State at Texas A&M (8-2)

The lowdown: After their monumental upset of Alabama last week, the Aggies meet Bearkats, out of the Southland Conference. ...There is Heisman talk surrounding freshman quarterback sensation Johnny Manziel, who was 24-of-31 for 253 yards against Alabama. "Johnny Football" also ran for 92 yards on 18 carries. The quarterback is averaging 379 yards per game on his own. ...Texas A&M's upset of the Crimson Tide vaulted the Aggies from 15th to eighth in the BCS standings. They are among six SEC teams in the Top 9. ...Using the option, Sam Houston State averages nearly 300 yards rushing per game.

Syracuse (5-5) at Missouri (5-5)

Where: Columbia, Mo.

When: 6 p.m.

Line: Missouri by 4

The lowdown: The Tigers are coming off an emotional four-overtime, 51-48 win over Tennessee. ...Syracuse is coming off a major win, as well, handing Louisville its first loss of the season, 45-26. ...Both teams are fighting for bowl eligibility. This looks to be Missouri's best opportunity because its last game is at Texas A&M, while Syracuse travels to Temple. ...Missouri has a weapon in Marcus Murphy, who leads the SEC in punt-return average at 14.83 yards per return.

Samford (7-3) at Kentucky (1-8)

Where: Lexington, Ky.

When: 6:30 p.m.

The lowdown: The Wildcats continue to play out a miserable season in which head coach Joker Phillips was notified he would not return in 2013. ...The Southern Conference Bulldogs are coming off of a 26-15 win over Elon, while Kentucky lost 40-0 to Vanderbilt. ....Kentucky can thank Idaho for keeping them out of last place among the 120 Football Bowl Subdivision offenses. ... The Wildcats average 16.4 points per game, compared to Idaho's 15.4.

Georgia Southern (8-2) at Georgia (9-1)

Where: Athens, Ga.

When: 12:30 p.m.

The lowdown: The 8-2 Golden Eagles stay in state to take on the BCS No. 5 Bulldogs, who clinched the SEC East Division last week with a 38-0 thumping of Auburn. ...Georgia junior linebacker Jarvis Jones was announced among the 15 "Players to Watch" for the Walter Camp award this week. Jones has 56 tackles and 10.5 sacks. He also has forced five fumbles. ...Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray has passed for 2,616 yards this season. ...Georgia Southern, out of the Southern Conference, rushed for 529 yards last week in a 69-26 thumping of Howard.
