Service Briefs

Army Pvt. Michael C. Ellis graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training. He is the son of James and Sandra Ellis, of Florence, and a 2002 graduate of Coffee High School, Florence.

Army Pfc. William R. Burbank returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

He is an ammunition specialist assigned to the 98th Maintenance Co. at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and has served in the military for one year.

He is the son of William Burbank, of Waterloo, and a 2006 graduate of Hardin County High School, Savannah, Tenn.

Air Force Airman Sean M. Young graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Mike Young, of Athens, and a 2012 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, Rogersville.
