Severe weather pushes toward Shoals

Severe thunderstorms could strike the Shoals area tonight as a strong cold front pushes deeper into the Tennessee Valley.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for counties in southern Tennessee and northern Alabama. The thunderstorms will begin to affect northwest Alabama between 10 p.m. and midnight. The weather service statement includes the possibility of damaging winds of 60 to 70 mph and the possibility of a small tornado. The severe weather threat is greatest in northwest Alabama.
