Sheffield home damaged by fire; occupant safely escapes
By Tom Smith
The TimesDaily

SHEFFIELD — A early morning fire did extensive damage to a residence at 100 River Bluff Road, officials said.

One person was at home but was able to escape without injuries.

Sheffield Fire Chief Dewey King said flames were coming out of the back of the house when firefighters arrived about 8:30 a.m.

The fire had gotten into the attic, but firefighters were able to get it under control in about 35 minutes.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. King, however, said it could have been of electrical origin.

The American Red Cross has been called to assist the family.
